Πρῶτον δ᾽ ἐξέμεσεν λίθον, πύματον καταπίνων· τὸν μὲν Ζεὺς στήριξε κατὰ χθονὸς εὐρυοδείης Πυθοῖ ἐν ἠγαθέῃ γυάλοις ὕπο Παρνησοῖο σῆμ᾽ ἔμεν ἐξοπίσω, θαῦμα θνητοῖσι βροτοῖσιν.
